Everywhere in the dream the people followed this decree and built vast monuments to themselves, everyone with a pyramid in their backyard, always white, always with the word pyramid written on the side with capitals, in Helvetica, always somehow with curved edges. The goal was to make the pyramids as small as possible, because small was so very big at the time, so in the end some people had pyramids smaller than the grass on their lawns. The pyramids were always there though, in everyone’s yard, even if they couldn’t be seen. The really small ones were meant to be worn on a chain around the neck, or, if small enough (this option reserved only for the privileged elite) inserted into the anus. The pyramids were not meant to house the dead.
